It’s not too late to spruce up your Social Media Marketing strategy in the run up to Christmas.
So, it’s mid-December, the busiest shopping time of the year. Your Social Media Marketing strategy is in place and you’ve created a few Christmas-themed posts across your social media pages, including a photo of your boss in a Christmas hat and a recipe for the world’s greatest Christmas pudding. However, you’re still not happy with the engagement across your posts or the traffic to your website, even with your Social Media Marketing strategy in place. Why, at the busiest time of the year, is business not rushing you off your feet?
We’ve put together a few ideas for engaging your audience across social media platforms, while making sure you stay as Christmassy as possible!
Give a Christmassy feel across your pages.
Don’t be a Scrooge. It’s Christmas…shout about it! To make sure the Social Media platforms you use reflect the most wonderful time of year, give your profile and cover images an update. Your logo could be temporarily altered with all things snowy and colourful and you can also give a festive feel to all posts you put out there to ensure there is a consistent theme.
Get people talking with #hashtags.
People love to share their Christmas experiences, so why shouldn’t you be the one to hear the stories? In your post, why not ask people about the strangest gift they ever received or to give their greatest Christmas turkey cooking tips? Of course, when linked to your business or what you do, it’s sure to get people talking.
Plan a festive competition.
There’s nothing people love more than freebies. Competitions are a great way of drawing attention to your social media page, and in turn, bringing people to your website. Suggesting that people give your page a ‘like’ as part of your competition entry, or perhaps to find out some detail about your company for competition question will get people reading your pages. Depending on how long your competition lasts, have a count down, so your followers are aware of how long the competition lasts and how many days they have left to enter.
Share what’s happening in the office.
Maybe you’re having a Christmas party for your hard-working staff or you’re simply having some yummy party food in the office. Share it to your followers! We don’t mean share your every move, but if something out of the ordinary is going down that people will want to know about, your followers will love to hear about it. We aren’t all robots and your followers will appreciate seeing some human faces behind the name!
Create an attractive Christmas offer.
Christmas is an expensive time for some, so an offer or discount code is a great way to attract custom and help with the Christmas shopping rush! This is a great way to drive people to your site or to generate more sales for your business. Grab the attention of your customers by offering a percentage off products across your site, or perhaps a buy one get one free offer across certain lines. Your social media posts can be scheduled in at different intervals in the run up to Christmas; you could even have a different offer each day for the countdown to Christmas.
Each day we’ll be giving you hints and tips to improve your marketing strategies over the Christmas period. Make sure you return to our 12 Days of Christmas Marketing Strategies for your E-Commerce Website each day in the run up to Christmas!
