When it comes to account management, every day is different. Whether you’re writing a proposal for a client, holding a meeting, sending reports or attending network events, you can guarantee that every day will present a fresh challenge.
To help our clients (and those reading this article) understand what makes up our growing team of digital experts we introduced this ‘a day in the life’ section to our blog. This week, it’s the turn of Account Manager, Jodie, to give us some insight into her role at Bigfoot Digital…
The first thing to understand about the role of an Account Manager is that there isn’t such thing as a ‘typical day’ at work. That’s one of the reasons I love my job so much… and also the reason we should probably give this post a different title.
So, what did I get up to this week?
The one thing that is consistent however is that the day starts with checking emails – as it does for most of you, I’d expect. I get loaded with emails that I must pick up first thing in a morning, so it can be hard to reply to everything straight away. I prioritise the emails that need urgent attention. Project information for the SEO team, client enquiries and possible leads, etc.
I’m tasked with making sure all projects are completed on time and on budget for our clients. This involves checking what the team have scheduled in for the day and making sure they have everything they need. It falls on me to present the monthly reports to clients detailing what work is complete and the results achieved, which brings us on to my next task…
Strategic objectives and reports
We dedicate an entire week to creating reports for our clients. These include data from various tracking software like Google Analytics. This gives us the knowledge and insight needed to improve the effectiveness of campaigns. The reports are sent monthly and follow a phone conversation explaining our findings in detail.
The best part of my job is attending client meetings and discussing projects with the Bigfoot team. We have a growing client base across the UK, and part of my job requires me to travel to meet clients, which is exciting! I love meeting new people and learning about different industries. It makes what I do enjoyable to meet people who (like me) are passionate about what they do.
I’ve been an Account Manager at Bigfoot Digital for over 3 years now, but it feels a lot longer (in a good way). So much has happened over a short period and we just keep growing with new clients signing up every day. There’s a great ‘pat-on-the-back’ and ‘shout out’ culture here which recognises good work. Something that makes me love coming to work. I think I’m going to be sticking around for quite some time.
