Is there a free Clickfunnels alternative?
If your company is searching for a powerful sales solution, you may have come across Clickfunnels.
Designed as an all-in-one solution to marketing your business, Clickfunnels offers a huge range of tools. You can create beautifully crafted landing pages, add detailed targeting, and follow up people using engaging effective content.
Since Clickfunnels easily integrates with a huge array of shopping carts and includes remarketing options to target loyal customers, it can be used to run an entire product-based business.
There are a huge array of features that make using any Clickfunnels alternative the worst possible decision. However, no matter how great the marketing software, it’s worth shopping around before you part with your pennies.
There are hundreds of Clickfunnels alternatives in existence. Some decent, some not worth a mention. It all comes down to personal preference. What is your business looking to achieve? Which marketing software will help you get there? Does that choice come down to budget? If so, what can you get for your money?
We’re here to give you an honest answer to these questions.
So without further ado, let’s get started…
What is Clickfunnels?
Russell Brunson created Clickfunnels as he understood the ongoing challenges companies faced with modern-day technology. A business would have an idea of a product or service that would make them big bucks. It was innovative, inspiring and, most importantly, was of interest to the mass market. They knew it would hit the mark with prospective customers. But they had no idea what to do next.
The problem is that marketing is mystifying to most. If you don’t know how to code and craft content, then you’re stuck behind your competitors. As a new business, it’s likely, you don’t have the budget for a marketing department.
For a long time, the only solution was to pour every penny of your remaining budget into a website company to design a professional site that may or may not make money. It was risky.
What’s so great about it? Clickfunnels was designed to take back control from the tech gurus. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to write code, use HTML, design a CSS style sheet, or if you don’t know your keyword from your anchor text. Clickfunnels helps you build impressive websites using multi-million dollar templates. Funnels nurture relationships with potential customers before hitting them with a sale. The end result is a loyal customer!
Connect with your customers:
The first step of a Clickfunnels funnel is to build trust with your audience. If you’re just starting out, no one has heard your name, no one has done business with you. How do you gain trust from prospects? You start with the promotion of a freebie product or service related to your final offering. People will sign up because, why not? It’s free, and they have nothing to lose.
Present an offer bundle:
From there, you can retarget customers with a product to purchase. But, what makes your offer different from the thousands out there? How do you stand out from the competition?
Your product will be presented as a bundle to increase the perceived value. You are no longer selling a product, but instead an offer. Customers will buy from you, simply because you’re offering more than the competition.
Imagine two competitors have priced a phone at £100. One has included the addition of a screen protector, apps guide and earphones – who do you buy from? The one offering the most value for money. You are no longer in an on-going price battle with your competitors.
The concept of building a relationship with your prospects is evident across the platform. Clickfunnels offer various resources and training videos to help you build a successful funnel. All the way from concept to completion. These people are the ones who have built multi-million dollar funnels and they are here to share them with you.
As part of the service, you can access the Clickfunnels Marketplace giving you the opportunity to purchase pre-made funnels. As we said, you don’t have to be a designer, content writer or coder to build a successful funnel.
- Endless support and training at your fingertips.
- Access to thousands of pre-made, multi-million dollar funnels.
- Drag and drop editor making the process smooth.
- The option to build entire website pages using Clickfunnels.
Multiple retargeting options, such as email automation, social media integration, and display advertising.
Luckily a lot of the following applications are available as a free trial, making it easy to compare them having actually used them yourself. For example, you can ‘test drive’ Clickfunnels using their 14-Day Free Trial. This includes training and resources to ensure you get the best possible results. As with all these applications, we recommend doing your research first so you don’t waste any trial time.
Kartra vs Clickfunnels
Hopefully, you now understand the in’s and out’s of the industry-leading platform. Let’s move onto the well-known Clickfunnels alternative, Kartra.
The first thing to note about Kartra is that you can accomplish pretty much everything you can with Clickfunnels, just with different methods. With Clickfunnels, you get there quicker. Everything is laid out for you and you have unlimited resources at your disposal.
The Clickfunnels community is vast in comparison to Kartra. Clickfunnels has been around for many years and continues to dominate the market. The number of Clickfunnels affiliates is proof enough that the software works to generate an impressive return.
What makes Kartra stand out as a viable Clickfunnels alternative is the way it leads marketers to think about their goals first before they consider how to get there. Perhaps the most logical step to a sales funnel is the message. But Kartra shows that logic is not always the best process, opting to begin the process with the ‘Thank You’ page.
Pros and cons of Kartra:
- Kartra is all inclusive from the start.
When you sign up to Kartra at any price point you will get access to all the services, including funnels, marketing automation and the affiliate programme. That’s even with the most basic account. With Clickfunnels, you need the most expensive plan if you want all of the features ($297/pm).
- Host videos and images.
We all know how important visual content is when it comes to marketing. Include an image on your landing page and watch as your conversion rate increases by 80%! You get a certain bandwidth with every plan, and if you go over that amount, you pay for it. It looks to be priced at around $0.19 per file, compared to the Amazon alternative for $0.09. It’s pretty pricey. But, it’s nice to have everything in one place. With Clickfunnels, you have to host your content elsewhere.
- Kartras timers are advanced.
Both platforms offer timer functionality used for evergreen promotions. Kartra timers are far more advanced as they are connected to the user’s account and can be tracked more closely. Clickfunnel’s timers are tracked using cookies.
- New software.
Kartra is a relatively new entry into the market. This is something to consider when looking at Kartra as a one-stop marketing solution. Our experience using the platform was disappointing as we found that the editor was rather clunky and difficult to operate. It took longer to create our campaigns than expected.
- Clunky editor.
While both Clickfunnels and Kartra use a ‘simple’ drag and drop editor, the Clickfunnels alternative does not live up to this market leader. As a digital agency, we have experienced some clear stumbling blocks using the Kartra software. The editor operated differently depending on the device used (Tablet, Phone, Desktop) to edit pages.
- Limited autoresponders.
With Clickfunnels, you have the option to integrate your responses with popular email marketing software (MailChimp, Infusionsoft, ActiveCampaign, etc.) Kartra has one option, Zapier, which is built into the platform.

Builderall vs Clickfunnels
The one thing that gives Builderall the edge here is the price point. For even the full premium business package it will only cost you $49.90 per month. It may be a good software to look into if you know you have a smaller budget.
Builderall differs from Clickfunnels with the amount and range of different digital marketing features they offer. For example, with Builderall you can create anything from the popular marketing funnel to your own app. This might immediately seem great, however usually, where there are a larger number of features offered, the quality of these features suffers. This is something to keep in mind if your business is established and wants to incorporate high quality and effective funnels in their marketing strategy.
Unfortunately, the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ is probably very true in this case. We all know that if we try and do too many things at once, the jobs get done half-heartedly. We would advise you to invest in a software that you know will produce results and increase your conversion rates, which all of Clickfunnels’ funnel templates will do.
Pros and cons of Builderall:
If you one of those tech-savvy who gets agitated by slow websites, Builderall may be a good Clickfunnels alternative for you. Builderall has a speed performance grade A, compared to Clickfunnels’ grade C. However, Clickfunnels is still by no means slow so it’s not something to worry too much about.
Another advantage of Builderall as a Clickfunnels alternative is the active involvement that its founders play in the community. There is plenty of updated information and advice about how to use the software effectively available. This may be different from Clickfunnels due to the size and scale of its user community. So if interacting with fellow users is something you are looking for, maybe consider Builderall.
Despite this, Clickfunnels still provide their users with plenty of guidance. For example, all users go through a ‘board game’ style training program to learn everything about the software. Russell Brunson the founder is also very active online in the marketing world and his YouTube videos are extremely helpful for how to use Clickfunnels.
Clickfunnels is suitable for people from any background to understand almost immediately. Whereas Builderall may take some time for even tech-savvy people to wrap their head around. For this reason, if you don’t have much time to spare or just want something easy to use, Clickfunnels would be recommended.
Builderall offers users a wide range of features and along with this, it allows users to customise their pages etc. as much as they like. For example, when creating a funnel landing page, the tool allows you to place any element absolutely anywhere on the page.
This might seem great as you can make your pages exactly suit your brand image… However, the way Builderall is coded means that your pages wouldn’t be responsive to other devices and screen sizes. This is a big problem, as nowadays, more often than not people are online on their phones or tablets, rather than computers. If half your content is cut off, your conversion rates are not going to be high.
Clickfunnels is coded in columns, meaning customisation is restricted. But this is actually an advantage; at least you know that people are actually going to be able to see your creations as they should be seen.

Shopify vs Clickfunnels
Shopify is a software where users can create fully-fledged e-commerce stores. It allows you to sell a range of different products all in one place and it serves its purpose very well. Hence it is used by a lot of big names, such as Budweiser and Kylie Cosmetics. It is debatable whether Shopify can be considered a Clickfunnels alternative though. Although it’s a platform for selling products, it doesn’t take an active ‘sales pitch’ approach like Clickfunnels.
Clickfunnels also allows different products to be sold, as it offers each user three domains when they sign-up the standard package. Clickfunnels doesn’t just put products or services out there and wait for them to sell, it is proactive, which is why their conversion rates are so high.
Pros and cons of Shopify:
Shopify is a great tool to use if you have a wide range of products types. It has an integrated inventory management system, which takes the worry off your shoulders about when to order stock and how much to order to suit demand.
As well as offering a way to manage product inventories, there is a range of shipping and payment integration options. For example, Shopify works with a number of big shipping companies like UPS to offer their users discounted rates. In terms of payment, Shopify accepts payment from any of the main card companies and over 50 online payment processors. It is therefore worth using Shopify if you are selling physical products to receive these benefits.
You could use Clickfunnels for the front-end and their high-converting landing pages, then use Shopify to process payments and arrange shipping etc. Integrating Clickfunnels with different tools is easy and may be a good option, depending on the needs of your business.
Another reason why Shopify can be considered a Clickfunnels alternative, or one to use alongside Clickfunnels, is their content management system. You can create a blog to go alongside your e-commerce store. This is a great way to sell different products by providing more chatty but informative information. Having regular blog posts going up on your site is a great way to improve your Google rankings too! Shopify has a content management tool where you can write posts, schedule them and be notified when you should post more.
One way that Clickfunnels trumps Shopify is pricing. With a Clickfunnels pricing package, you know exactly what you are going to get. However, with Shopify, you pay a monthly fee but extra costs still crop up. To add extra add-ons to your pages which are aimed at increasing conversion rates, you have to pay each time. The issue with this is that new features may be tempting and extra costs can add up. At least with Clickfunnels, you know that you will be paying a set monthly fee and don’t have to worry about money after that.
Doesn’t obtain details.
The way that Clickfunnels succeeds in increasing conversion rates so heavily, is with their landing pages having one option only. Visitors have to either enter their email addresses and details to receive the deal or leave the page.
With Shopify, visitors are presented with multiple options meaning they can get distracted and end up not purchasing. Plus, even when people buy a product, they don’t have to supply their details. This misses out on retargeting opportunities, which Clickfunnels takes very seriously. People are shown to be more likely to purchase if they are approached with a deal a second time.
- Need sales experience.
Although Clickfunnels and Shopify are both user-friendly and don’t require users to be good with technology… Shopify users will need some degree of sales experience to succeed. Clickfunnels provides fully pre-built templates where users just add their own content. However, Shopify provides all the tools but users need to know how they can be maneuvered successfully.

Leadpages vs Clickfunnels
Next, let’s look at Leadpages as a Clickfunnels alternative. This tool offers less than Clickfunnels, as it only the landing page stage of marketing funnels can be created on Leadpages.
The aim of the software is to generate leads which can then be retargeted. It uses a range of tools to capture leads such as pop-up opt-in forms, email, and SMS. Clickfunnels takes marketing funnels a lot further by allowing you to create your email campaigns within the software too. You can sort leads into groups according to certain criteria set by you.
Automated email templates can then be set up according to the characteristics of your leads. If people feel like your emails are tailored to them they are far more likely to take into account the information/deals being presented.
Pros and cons of Leadpages:
Less of an investment.
If your business is still relatively small or if you know you need to stick to a smaller budget, Leadpages may work for you. A standard Leadpages package is only $37 per month! However, the limited features available is reflected in the price. Having attractive and effective landing pages is important, but Clickfunnels allows you to create and manage your entire marketing funnel, rather than just the initial stage.
As well as this Clickfunnels alternative limiting you in terms of the range of features available… Leadpages offers a limited number of templates for your landing pages. With Clickfunnels, there is a huge range of pre-built full funnel templates. Users can also use their ‘share funnel’ feature, so they can share the funnels they are proud of. This means there is a continually increasing number of funnel templates available for you to use or take inspiration from!

Kajabi vs Clickfunnels
Last but not least, let’s discuss Kajabi as a potential Clickfunnels alternative.
One important thing to keep in mind from the offset is that Kajabi and Clickfunnels are aimed at very different audiences and have different purposes. It, therefore, might seem pointless to compare the two, but if you are unsure which type of product or service that you are going to sell, it may be useful.
Kajabi is aimed at what could be called ‘infopreneurs’; people who want to essentially sell their knowledge and expertise. Whereas Clickfunnels is aimed at businesses selling any product, digital or physical, who wants to increase their conversion rates.
Pros and cons of Kajabi:
One aspect of Kajabi that the software is praised for is the amount of customisation that they allow. There are templates for marketing funnels and more on offer, but you can completely customise these to suit your own brand image. Clickfunnels is slightly more restrictive in this respect, but their pre-built funnels are all guaranteed for success, so it depends what you prioritise. We would personally recommend Clickfunnels due to the almost guaranteed results it would bring your business.
Due to Kajabi focusing on selling only digital products, they offer some really cool features to incorporate. If you’re offering an online course, you can create your own online assessments for people to progress through. You can also host events, where you can post pre-recorded content for people to view or even do a live video to interact.
Another feature they offer is ‘drip content’, where users can schedule content to be released to members gradually. Let’s not forget though, Clickfunnels offer some great features too and costs you a lot less.
Kajabi, as a Clickfunnels alternative, could be criticised for its price. A standard Clickfunnels package includes three domains for each user. With Kajabi, a standard package only gives the user one domain. For more domains, you have to pay increasingly more each month.
With Clickfunnels, a membership program can have an unlimited number of members even with the most basic package. Whereas for unlimited members in Kajabi, you would have to sign up to the business package, costing a hefty $899 per month! Whether your business is big or small, there is no need to invest in a software for that price if the features you need are available elsewhere. We would, therefore, recommend trying out Clickfunnels using their free 14-day trial. It will probably have all you need!
Kajabi has a very focused audience, meaning their opportunities are limited too. If you are someone who likes the idea of selling their expertise but doesn’t want to rule physical products out; we would say definitely go with Clickfunnels. The features they offer mean that you can sell various types of products using different domains.
