The team at Bigfoot Digital needed no encouragement when we were asked to lend our voices to the latest campaign from Yorkshire Smokefree. We donned our Santa hats, beards and tinsel and got into the festive spirit to record an alternative 12 Days of Christmas.
Yorkshire Smokefree supports people within Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Wakefield and Calderdale who want to quit smoking. The concept is unique to our part of the world with support available in person, over the telephone, via online live chat or a personalised online portal. You can create your account for free on the Yorkshire Smokefree website.
The alternative, smoke-free version of the 12 Days of Christmas was written by NHS smoking support worker Denise Hinds back in 2004 and the local NHS team decided to bring it to life with the help of Friends in Harmony Choir Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster face-to-face support workers, Team Active, Bob’s Business and ourselves. It was filmed, directed and produced by our very own video expert Liam Gilroy.
We hope you like it and we would love it if you could share it! It’s a bit of festive fun but it delivers a strong message that quitting smoking is perhaps the best gift you can give to yourself and your family this Christmas.
