The last year was our most successful to date with the team growing from 7 to 19 employees and an impressive number of new clients #happydays
Strengthening our position as one of the north’s most dominant marketing agencies, we have seen an impressive rise in new business which can be attributed to our commitment to developing long-term client relationships.
Bigfoot Digital has almost tripled in size which has attracted more talented marketers to our key departments. We are lucky that every member of our staff is passionate about the industry and we are continually searching for ways to improve our performance and customer service.
One thing we are especially proud of is the restructuring of our management team. Jen Penaluna, former SEO Executive, makes the move up to SEO Account Manager to bridge the gap between campaigns and clients. Her wealth of business and SEO knowledge, alongside her existing rapport with clients, makes her the perfect candidate for this position. At Bigfoot Digital, we believe communication is key. Now clients can contact their dedicated SEO Executive, or one of the Account Managers, regarding their campaign.
Managing Director, Mark Woodcock, said: “Our team has always been focused on delivering effective results to help our clients thrive online and now is the right time to restructure our team to improve those results.”

During my first few months at Bigfoot, I quickly felt like I was part of the family.
Along with our Managing Director, Mark, I work with some amazing and influential women who have taught me much more than SEO skills. The lovely ladies at Bigfoot have helped me to see that I am also a strong, successful woman who can do anything she puts her mind to.
Working at Bigfoot has been such an important year for me, both professionally and personally. My career has taken off like a rocket which I believe is down to a mixture of my hard work and dedication, as well as working alongside colleagues who believe in and encourage me.
I’ve also made some friends for life here, so applying to Bigfoot was the best decision I’ve ever made. I wouldn’t change my job or colleagues for the world! The only thing I would change is the cheesy pop playlist I’m sometimes subjected to in the office…
Proud as Punch Promotion Moment
During my interview, I instantly felt like I could bring a lot to the table with my enthusiasm for learning new skills, though I didn’t necessarily have vast SEO knowledge at the time.
During the interview, Mark asked me: “Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?” to which I replied: “I see myself as having learnt a great deal and developed into an important member of the team who you wouldn’t want to lose”.
Less than a year later, we revisited this conversation when Mark offered me a promotion after my passion for SEO blossomed and my commitment to client campaigns became borderline obsessive.
I will be forever grateful to Bigfoot Digital for taking a chance on me and allowing me to develop my skills in SEO. I’m now a self-confessed SEO geek and proud!
Developing my SEO Skills
When I first came onboard, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of jargon involved in SEO. Everything seemed to be a three-letter acronym; SEO, CTR, CMS, NAP, GMB! Now, I’m fluent in the beautiful language of SEO, and the hardest task is passing that information onto clients in an intelligible, jargon-free way. I’d like to think that this is a skill in itself, as I turn complex data into an easily-understandable report for my clients every month.
The nature of SEO is constantly changing with new updates happening all the time, so it’s important that I’m always up to date. When I leave work, I don’t stop working – I’m scrolling through LinkedIn, picking up on industry updates and sharing them with the team. I’m also one to reply to emails outside of traditional working hours as my clients are important to me.
I’ve worked with some pretty big clients for over a year now and have shown them some incredible results with fantastic returns on investment. I believe that my clients’ campaigns are a testament to my SEO ability, so I work hard to continuously develop new strategies to drive traffic to my client’s websites. I’m happiest when my clients are making money from a good SEO strategy!
